It’s 8:30 a.m. A good time to start the day, the sun is shining brightly and I am sitting under a simple skybox. Simple… because you only need one colour for it: blue!

What’s so special about this time is the fact that since tonight, it’s summertime. Meaning that I have “lost” one hour. No big deal either. But when you’re playing “Who wants to be a millionaire?” on your iPad until 2 a.m., you usually want to make use of the sunday and sleep at least 8 hours. You can do the math for yourself now. It IS too early to get up 😉

I told my soon-to-be wife Alicia that it’s crazy: If I had to go to work today, I would be tired and would be in a bad mood. Well – you know the point. It’s not that you have to work, it’s WHY you have to work.

I “have to” work on Silversword, and that is a voluntary job. That is the job I have chosen and a job that I manage for myself alone. My boss would be happy if I showed that amount of dedication during my “main” job. Alas, I think he wouldn’t allow me to work WHEN I want – and on WHAT I want. This is probably the main reason for becoming a self-employed person.

Silversword is a niche product – it won’t get me to self-employment 😉 But nonetheless, it’s so much fun to work on it, and support the growing fan-base, that I can’t put it down. Why should I anyway?

If you’ve read this far, you know what this new Dev Blog is all about. It’s about me and my thoughts – regarding Silversword, it’s successor(s)… and other things related to this. Enjoy if you like 🙂

"I got goosebumps while reading through the manual for the first time. iOS devs just don't make games on this scale. It's such a poetic app."
