The new and the old

You have fond memories of the old times, when you typed in “CHAOS” at the priest in the ruins of Skara Brae, and were prompted to insert the dungeon disk… good news then: The Bard’s Tale App now includes the 3rd part of the old saga. By playing some hours into this, I must admit that I have to make some adjustments to Silversword 😉 At least some more items will be added soon (Shield Staff, Mithril Bracers etc.). If you want to see more stuff from the old games, please let me know. Silversword is here to make it happen – sharpen your swords and get your bard a drink!

The next update was just sent to Apple

Due to the overwhelming feedback on the forums, some adjustments have been made (along with some bug fixes).

These include changes in the new chest mini game, an updated manual, compendium, and a tweak to the combat UI.

More coming soon… thank you for your support!

Update 2.1.0 is live!

Together with some bug fixes and minor changes to the manual, I have introduced a slightly better way of dealing with chests.

Depending on the skill of your rogue, you will see a certain number of gizmos that turn from green to red and vice versa. The number of gizmos is related to the difficulty level of the current map. With lockpicks you can eliminate those switches one by one.

Now try to touch a switch when it is green. If you don’t succeed in this, the lock will be jammed and you will have to unjam it first before you can make a another attempt. But beware: Unjamming might set off a trap.

Have fun with this new way of dealing with treasure!

"I got goosebumps while reading through the manual for the first time. iOS devs just don't make games on this scale. It's such a poetic app."
