Silversword just climbed the ladder to no. 4 of the german roleplaying game charts (AppStore, iPad). Thank you very much! Indeed, I am very happy about every review, because it shows me your appreciation, and feedback – and helps me making the game better with the next updates. It’s not only about my fond memories of the old times, it’s about our shared memories. So keep the reviews coming – I will listen!
My AppViz application just told me that Silversword (including the In-App-Purchases) was sold 20.000 times!
Although 2/3 of this number was given away for free on the special free-App day, I am still very happy about the figures 🙂 To celebrate this, the app price will be lowered to Tier 1, meaning you can get it for 0.79 € / $0.99 over the next days.
Thank you very much for your support!
It feels good that there are still so many old-school gamers 🙂
For a short time, Silversword can be bought at an olympic price! Get it now and battle at your own games: Goblin Bashing, Troll Chasing, Spellweaving and Lockpicking – just to name some. The global ranking (Game Center) is not carved in stone – you can still climb the top ranks! Go for it!
Silversword 2 is taking part in the actual KickStarter Indie Bundle!
Check it out here: KickStarter Indie Bundle
In addition, if we reach the goal, Silversword 2 will support the linux platform (yay!).
Hope to see you soon on KickStarter 🙂
When visiting Scotland, a trip to the place which reminds you of The Bard’s Tale I is of highest importance.
So, what is the city map like nowadays?
No, sorry, no Gran Plaz, no temples, and I couldn’t locate Mangar’s Tower either.
But nonetheless, this is a great place to be, and you really should visit the visitor centre here. Nice multimedia shows and many things to explore.
If you don’t have the chance to take the ride, enjoy another hour of Bard’s Tale fun while loading up your favourite Silversword party. You can expect the expansion in about 2-3 months, if things go as expected.
Arcadelife published a review of Silversword some days ago, which you can read here: http://arcadelife.wordpress.com/2012/06/04/silversword-review-ios-universal/
Thanks to the folks of Arcadelife!
Finally, the problems with the two hellish chests are solved. You should be able to open them now and get your reward.
In addition, the roadwarden should charge you the correct price now. Some of the corrupt elements have been identified and put to jail. Sadly, the stolen money hadn’t been found yet…
Looting some items with a composite name caused trouble, giving you only a “NULL” item. You don’t need “NULL” items to finish the game, and so they are removed now and replaced with real ones.
Thank you all for your great feedback!
P.S. I found that the game settings screen still shows 2.11 as version number. Sorry. You will have 2.12 upon updating, no matter what they say.
You have fond memories of the old times, when you typed in “CHAOS” at the priest in the ruins of Skara Brae, and were prompted to insert the dungeon disk… good news then: The Bard’s Tale App now includes the 3rd part of the old saga. By playing some hours into this, I must admit that I have to make some adjustments to Silversword 😉 At least some more items will be added soon (Shield Staff, Mithril Bracers etc.). If you want to see more stuff from the old games, please let me know. Silversword is here to make it happen – sharpen your swords and get your bard a drink!
Due to the overwhelming feedback on the forums, some adjustments have been made (along with some bug fixes).
These include changes in the new chest mini game, an updated manual, compendium, and a tweak to the combat UI.
More coming soon… thank you for your support!
