Miners deep - chamber of storms chest

I can’t figure out how to open the chest in the chamber of storms.
Have gloves of force and staff of storms. Unsure what I’ve missed

Make sure you have the latest version of the game. Early on there was a bug that icetear squashed quickly, but I don't recall what version fixed it.

Do you gain access to the chamber? As I recall, the staff gets you in. I don't remember if the chest had anything special keeping you out. What happens with the chest?

I bought the expansion a few weeks ago so I should be up to date.
I used the staff of storms to access the chamber of secrets. I few steps in I found a chest. The chest cannot be picked or trap zapped so I imagine a special key is needed. No idea where the key is.

Is it a regular chest "mini-game" with the flashing lights, but one or more of them stay red? If so, you can use a lockpick to remove an all red tumbler.

Yes, a mini game is an option with one square that remains red. I tried the Dietrich. I’ll go back with a lock pick.

That's odd. As far as I know, a Dietrich is just an expensive lock pick, so it should have worked. If the lock pick doesn't work, maybe ice tear can add the item from the check to your saved game file.
