The sound of horses......

As my party travels the length and breadth of Tarkan, I’ve noticed occasionally when travelling through the green woods and forests, the sound suddenly of horses neighing in the fields, does this have any relevance in the game? For example, could there be a coaching inn nearby?

I really wish I could be of more help, but to be honest I tend to play with the sound off because I always have a bard song playing and it just gets old after awhile. But so far as I can tell, it's just ambience that has no further connection with things occurring in the game.
