Tarsasz Hut Dungeon?

Ok, I'm in the dungeon underneath the hit in the northwest corner of the swamps. The dungeon map is a tesseract -- walk far enough S and you wind up back at the top of the map. Anyway, I've mapped everything except a couple of areas that are magically dark, disorienting, and poisonous -- still searching for keys and clues to go forward. Am I correct in surmising that I have to cover every inch of the dark spaces, in order to find the next key? And is there some trick for dealing with the poison and disorientation, so that this isn't so hard to map?

The exit is in the dark area. Don't know what other people did but my guys were pretty beat up.

A hint--getting mana is very difficult after you exit the dark area. Recharging, that is.
